How many of the 25 commonly used functional terms for walkie-talkies do you know?

Author:

1. MONITOR
A listening method used to receive weak signals. By pressing the dedicated button to forcibly connect the receiving signal channel, the operator uses their ears to distinguish weak sounds in the speaker, achieving the purpose of listening.
The listening button is usually used when the other party's signal is unclear or intermittent. Pressing and holding this button to listen will have a better effect. There are usually 2 to 3 buttons. The first one is the PTT emission key, so it won't be mentioned. In cases where there are two buttons, the second button is usually a mute button [used when receiving poor signals], and in some high-end machines, the second button can also support programming functions. For example, ID code transmission, alarm, 1750 relay triggering, etc. If there are three keys, the second key is a function key (function setting or used as a combination key) or a programmable key (as above), and the third key is a mute key.
2. Scanning (SCAN)
A listening method used to hear calls from all channels.
By pressing the dedicated key, the receiving circuit receives signals from each channel in a certain order for a certain period of time. If the receiving time of each channel is 100ms, ten channels can be scanned per second, which means the scanning speed is 10ch/s.
3. PriorityChannel Scan function
During the scanning process, priority is given to scanning the set priority channel.
4. Delete/Add Scan Channel
Remove or add a channel from the scan list to the scan list.
5. Voice control (VOX)
When this function is activated, the transmission operation can be directly initiated through voice without pressing the PTT key.
VOX, Voice operated exchange, literally translated into Chinese, means "voice triggered conversion". Usually, we use walkie talkies, and we need to press the call button on the walkie talkie before making a call. But if VOX is turned on, there is no need to press the call button. As long as the microphone of the walkie talkie detects a speaking sound, it will automatically turn on transmission, achieving "voice controlled" calls. When the microphone cannot hear sound, it will turn off: the biggest significance of VOX is that it can completely free your hands and make it easy to talk.
6. Time Out Timer (TOT)
Time limited transmission function This function is to prevent any caller from occupying the channel for too long. The timer limits the transmission time of the walkie talkie each time, and limits the user's timeout transmission.
This function is used to restrict users from transmitting over time on one channel, while also avoiding damage to the walkie talkie due to prolonged transmission.
